thanks to captain roger lapenter, chequamegon bay has become a world class fishery for smallmouth bass.
in the early 90's roger lapenter saw a fishery in decline and with a little effort, he was able to help create one of the best smallmouth fisheries in the country. Continuing and preserving rogers legacy of founding one of the most unique catch and release smallmouth fisheries to be found anywhere is our goal. we specialize in fly fishing and light tackle angling for the smallmouth of chequamegon bay utilizing our ranger 191 cayman boats. prime seasons for shallow water angling are may-july with great fishing to be later in summer as well. we tend to try and fish the shallow fish all season long and if we have our way, stay away from the more well known areas.
